A Spec for the Meaning of "Oneirophoresis"

Make it mean dreams hauling freight, the weight of the dreamborne.
Also, dreambearing -- the way days carry dreams in their pockets.
Instances of such carrying -- the dream brought to light at work
as a door at the far end of the hall closes slowly behind
someone unseen. That door oneirophoric.

Say the lively poles of the dream shift beneath
the paper the day is written on.
Filings of talk and reverie line up and dance.

Or dream extending its field electric throughout
the body of the day's work, its gel of minutiae.
Image fragments migrate along the gradient,
segregate by weight, the heavier the slower,
the heaviest blocked at the threshold.

Ten or twelve stacks of twenties sat in the dirt
under the house, mold grown thick on ground and money.
Floor joists rested narrow edges on short posts
perched in turn on truncated pyramids, new concrete
pilings and timbers all clean.

Dream the iron wherein lines of force lie locked. Melted
and cooled again in sleep, dream's tiny domains realign.
How the next day dances along different lines.

The moon stands off-center in the sky over the mountains.
The woman stood in profile in the kitchen, wildly lunar.

How the land folds and what holds it open in the mind.
Canyons back of the lake deeper since I drove
the road past their mouths. Dream flags gleamed
where candlelight spilled through that door,
the stones worn smooth under so many feet.

Have it mean how
what we say when we don't talk
gets so loud.
