"M.F.K. Fisher on acid" -- says John Bear

Dana's latest cookbook is fun to read, fun to look at and fun to cook from. This unique cookbook contains great recipes, fun advice, hard learned wisdom and amusing anecdotes from a fabulous cook who is also wryly humorous, delightfully droll, and the survivor of a thoroughly fascinating life many years of which were spent with ex-husband Robert Crumb.

"Twenty some odd years ago I wrote my first cook book. Called it 'Eat It!' I had a great good time doing so. Eating it and writing it.

Well, it's been a long some twenty odd years and I really need some more great good times, so here you have "Still Eatin' It." I guess we all are, one way or 'tother. The title sums up my attitude about life in general and the last twenty some odd years in particular.

There have been ups and downs, ins and outs (so long ago I hardly remember) and infinite shits and grins. 'More!' said Baby Divine, 'I want more!' I've been a single parent to my sons and other peoples' sons, daughters, spouses, house plants and moderately domesticated animals. I've been a successful caterer for years, and worked with dysfunctional teenagers in group homes and my home, and have been a friend to all and 'a sister to every other Girl Scout.'

Still livin' in the mountains on the Eel Riveria with a slew of cats and an endless parade of family and friends who drop by ... sometimes for years. I've learned a lot about people, cooking, gardening, life and death and will share it, or at least as much as I can remember. For now, anyway.

Please keep in mind as you read and enjoy this book and as you amble down life's highways and byways that 'life is far too important to take seriously.' Laugh, love, cry, sorrow and rejoice but always do it with lots of gusto and a little chocolate."

"Enjoy!"
